What is the Daily?

The daily life of a principal. So what is it like to be responsible for the education, safety and well being of students? Share your thoughts and ideas.

How do you stay focused on instruction while working through the logistical web of everyday operations? Delegation is a great tool. How do you ensure delegated projects are completed on time and with quality?

  1. I think you are right. We need to know how to assess the individual needs of students. I also think that more needs to be done to train teachers to diagnose the cause of some problems. I found a page on a Response to Intervention site that might be a good resource. http://www.rti4success.org/chart/screeningTools/screeningtoolschart.html

  2. I agree. It is so important to start intervention as soon as we see a problem. If we as educators do this from the beginning, we will truly find our special needs students as opposed to those who missed a concept in the very beginning. I have seen over and over that many students just missed something in a previous year, and if we back up to where the deficit started we are more likely to be successful with helping our students progress. I believe that this is the purpose of RTI.
